Snowy Reds……

…………..I mean – REALLY?……

Ok, Mother Nature, get it all out of your system, I’m assuming your going to give us a spectacular Spring and a  balmy summer….right?

The tulips will be absolutely beautiful and the grass will shine in the sunlight! I will be deck side everyday with a Long Island Ice Tea in one hand and a  little battery operated fan in the other! I will be complaining how hot it is and wishing I had a pool! I will be sighing when I open my electric bill due to the central air being on and I will grill every night so as not to have to put the oven on!

We will dine outside every night on the deck and try and count the fireflies……I will have wished I had done better on my diet in January & February so I could be wearing an adorable shorts set and realizing why one makes New Year’s resolutions…..

The love of my life will take long walks with me down by the lake, pack a picnic basket and have lunch under the big oak trees….and  maybe attempt to teach me to kyak……yeah right….

Summer nights with friends and family around the campfire…..the kids playing Kick the Can in the woods…..S’mores as big as my hand……hot dogs & sauerkraut….fireworks for the kids…..days filled with laughter and sandals…..

Oooohhh, wait a minute…….I just looked up from my laptop and glanced out the glass doors……..

No that is not an alien ship up in the sky! I think its a reflection from my kitchen light!  lol…..

So much for fireworks!

Well, tomorrow is Valentine’s Day and rather than go with a traditional Over The Top table-setting, I went a bit country….simple, still with a  little winter in there….I love my red “Oak Leaf Embossed” plates and bowls…..the small crystal stemware will be for Hot Rum Tody’s… old black lantern and of course John Henry…..

Sausage & Lentil soup,  grilled “Five Cheese” sandwiches and small baby potatoes……
