Have you ever had a need for a muffin? I LOVE blueberry muffins and have probably baked every version I’ve come across…..until someone said to me “Why do you keep trying to improve what’s already perfect?” so true….. So this morning I was up at the crack of dawn – yup – baking! And yes they are wonderful! A hot cup of Earl Grey and warm muffins with butter…….it would be a perfect picture if there was a chill in the air and the fireplace had a crackling log in it…and I was sitting with my wool plaid throw on my lap and trying to organize all those acorn projects in my head…..but alas it’s going to be 82 degrees today, I’m in shorts and sandals….I texted Mother Nature last night and told her we are in need of a little Fall-like weather…..she responded “Aloha”….sigh….. And so I am heading down to the lake….my beach chair, ice tea and my blueberry muffin…….
These are my favorite dishes! Johnson Bros “Rose Chintz” these are the old pattern from the thirty’s and were my grandmothers’…..I think of her everytime I use them….. the napkin, below, is “Petite Point” crochet which she did constantly……she and my mom taught me how to crochet at very young age and I was sewing by time I was ten…..my great-grandfather (mother’s side) was a tailor for the English army in the 1880’s…..so I guess its in the blood!
Beautiful isn’t it? I have a dozen of them…..along with so many tablecloths she embroidered……I will do a post on true “Hand me downs” in the near future…..I have to first press all of them!
Have a wonderful weekend …. “Got Muffins?”
