Hello everyone! PineRidge Hills took the summer off but we are back and in full swing, ready to take long walks along the lake and gather crimson and gold oak leaves and acorns. The crackling of a campfire, the sounds of giggling children and the warmth of a wool blanket….all true signs that we are waiting for Autumn….. And yes it is slowly coming up the mountain…..
The cool, brisk air with the sweet smell of freshly mowed grass and the Marigold’s taking their last bow, and the squirrels hiding their winter’s dinner are all activities that I just rejoice in……As you can tell this is absolutely my time of year!
So what have we been up to here on the mountain? well, to start there were a few milestones…..my nephew and Godson, turned sixteen and a half and now has a drivers license! What? no…..wasn’t he just starting school yesterday?
My grandson, Justin had a great year in Basketball! we need more shelves for the Trophies!
The boys discovered Hawk Mtn and that infamous watering hole that all young boys dream of….
PineRidge Hills got an outside deck facelift….
And learning the art of Quilting from the Divine Ms. B and then a visit from her wonderful sister-in-law, Bernadette all the way from Philadelphia to give us a few “Pro’s Tips” on mastering a memory quilt which my dear sister-in-law Doris is still waiting on, remember? the one I started last year! But I am determined that she have it before Thanksgiving! here is my Old Glory quilt that I’m working on…..
I’ve been busy sewing, catching up on my reading, baking and cooking….we’ve had a few weekend guests, and for the last three weeks I’ve been nursing our little Westie Duncan back from a nasty fall which resulted in surgery four weeks ago, and recovery will take till the second week of November….so I’ve been a tad “Close to home bound”….we are very optimistic he will have a full recovery…he is already King of the Deck” and demanding that all wildlife adhere to his outdoor rules!
The small farm behind us now has some new tenants! Baby goats, lambs, Guinea Hens, a whole slew of “Mother Gooses'”, roosters and ducks….I’m hoping the horses will also move in! the Country Farmer even built a beautiful fence all around to keep his crew from visiting too often…
Just got the inside of the house gussied up for Autumn, with all its colors and aromas …….I’ve also been traveling thru Pinterest and some of my favorite blogs…..come on join the fun……but first here is a peek at PineRidge Hills getting its “Fall On”….
I’m still pulling down boxes that say Fall, so I may be at this for a few days! and I’m also looking for some new ideas for PineRidge…….what do you think?
I hope you enjoyed our visit, please come up again…..
