I know most people think of Autumn when they hear Soup……but not me – I am a soup-crazed lady! It doesn’t matter what month it is, there is always room for soup!
And one of my favorite soups is from Chef and Entertaining Stylist John Hadamuscin….he is a down home family style chef……I have all his cookbooks. He was raised in the Midwest, and his cookbooks are not only filled with delicious recipes but a story accompanies each one….about his mom’s kitchen, life on the farm and his life in New York City!
Today I’m making his version of “Wild Rice & Mushroom Soup”…..one of my favorites…
Over the weekend I will be making two of John’s desserts:Carmel-Coconut Custard and Orange Chiffon Cake…On Monday I will share my “CopyCat” photos! Now you know dessert will be my highlight! While the “Love of my life” is spending half of the weekend with the grandsons, Justin & Anthony, Little League” starts tomorrow, I will be busy in the kitchen. Then I plan on getting over to the Farmers Market to see what Spring has brought to the tables. I am also working on a new tablescape for next week – but this time I will be making my own dinnerware! Remember my first set of DIY salad plates? you can revisit here…This time I want them to match the table linens I will be making also….and thanks to my BFF the “Divine Ms. B”, for putting me in touch with her sister-in-law Bernadette who is guiding me on the what for’s and the how-to’s of the special project I am working on as a gift for my dear sister-in-law for her 25th wedding anniversary, I’ll be strategizing the layout for how I want it to look over the weekend, well, I’ll share that down the road as she may be reading this post today and I don’t want to give it away! So as you can see I’ll be very busy, but I will find time to walk the “Boyz” up on the ridge and watch my tulips say hello to the the Daffodils!
Have a great weekend……..
