Breakfast Room DIY Drapes

PicMonkey Collage

Have you ever walked through your favorite store and …sighed…..Hmmmmm, how do I fit that into my budget? Oh, well another time…..

That happened to me when I walked through Country Curtains…….I love the Buffalo Check drapes, but I have four more rooms of drapes to get done before the holidays and so had to pull myself away…..

Then Boscov’s sent me an email with unbelievable sales and I saw these beautiful tablecloths….I remembered Marty over at A Stroll Through Life had made drapes from these tablecloths for her living room! BAM! What have I got to loose? The only thing I would do differently is to line them being they were going on the sliding doors to the deck and are privy to a lot of sunshine…..So while at Walmart, I saw they had twin size flat cotton sheets on sale so I bought several of them.  It was cheaper than buying cotton lining. I purchased three tablecloths so I can use the third one to recover my chair pads when my new chairs come in this week. I’m also going to make “Pumpkins” for the planter and napkins and maybe even some designer plates for the hutch….you can see my “Dollar Store turned Designer Plates here…..

And here is how they look……

And remember this planter on the right? Well, its almost done! I have several additional things I want to do to it and fill it with special “Goodies” that I’m working on….

Well, here we are …..

Now – what did this cost me?

The tablecloths from Boscov’s – $4.99 each
Sheets from Walmart – $3.99 each

My drapes cost me $17.96!

With a little bit of creativity and my sewing machine I now have custom drapes!

Happy Tuesday!

Love your drapes and your table centerpiece! Great idea to line the curtains. And I ‘ve used those tablecloths (the blue check and the yellow check) for curtains too!

  5. Those look amazing! You just can’t go wrong with black and white checks. I have the red and white checks from CC but only had to do one window. It’s amazing how quickly all of that adds up. 🙂

    • Hi Stacey! I know how expensive that can be. That’s why I made mine, If I decide to change them it won’t bother me too much! Thanks for stopping by, please visit again.
